Can I get a replacement for a lost or stolen gift card?

Replacement depends on the retailer’s policy. In most cases, a lost or stolen gift card can only be replaced if you have valid proof of purchase (like a receipt, order confirmation, or transaction record) and the card hasn’t already been used. If the funds have already been redeemed, replacements are generally not possible.

Retailers make this distinction because gift cards are treated like cash equivalents. Once the balance has been spent, it cannot be recovered. Some merchants, however, may issue a replacement card as a goodwill gesture if you can show solid proof of purchase.

💡 Tip: Always keep your receipts and confirmation emails until your gift card has been fully used. Without proof, recovery is almost always impossible.
